Variety
Favori is a fast growing early everbearing variety with large leaves and long flower trusses that protrude above the leaves. The juicy berries are conical, slightly elongated, have a sweet taste with a very pleasant aroma. The variety won several taste tests earning in which it is particularly praised for its flavour. Fruits are intense orange-red, have a firm skin and a soft bite. Favori berries are not sensitive to bruising.

Cultivation
This variety is suitable for open field cultivation but performs best in substrate in covered systems. Favori has on average 7 to 8 flowers per truss. To achieve a high yield with well-developed fruit sizes, it is important to avoid overloading of trusses. A balanced nutritional approach is crucial for this variety. Avoiding an excessive amounts of manganese and boron is essential. The standard use of ammonium is not necessary. An excess of nitrogen can lead to a delay in flower truss development. During periods with more than 16 hours of daylight, excessive flower initiation can lead to a relatively high number of small fruits later in the season. Occasionally, the fruits can be a little seedy.

Favori is somewhat susceptible to tipburn. To prevent or reduce tipburn, it is recommended to maintain a good balance between leaf area and fruit load. A low calcium transport in the plant, especially in the first weeks after planting, or a sudden increase in root pressure can be the cause of tipburn. Favori is highly tolerant to Phytophthora cactorum and exhibits excellent tolerance to powdery mildew. Despite its long and sturdy trusses, truss breakage rarely occurs with Favori.

Harvest and sales
The berries of Favori are very suitable for retail channels. However, since the excellent taste encourages repeated purchase the variety is also used for direct sales. Favori has a good shelf life, maintaining its taste, gloss and fresh green calyx during storage and transportation.
